Someone stole my information

and is selling it. At least I think so...

I have been receiving all sorts of funny mail. Magazines, letters telling me that my warranty on my car is going to expire and I need to act now etc. Today I received one saying that the KIA Rio I bought two months ago is up for warranty replacement. I registered my car here two months ago, does the DMV sell your information???

Yep, they sure do!
There is also lots of info available from the county property tax rolls. This is another good reason to *never* give your telephone number if you can help it.

I don't think they sell it, per se, but it becomes publicly available after you register a car. Just ignore them and they'll go away.

We used to get those calls all the time. "The warranty on your Volvo is about to expire!" I should hope so, considering our Volvo was 15 years old.

They didn't steal it but I know they do get a hold of it. We get all of those warranty mailers too. On our car, our AC and heater.. blah blah blah.
